Open Garage is all about providing a welcoming space for the community to come together, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a slice of cake and a chat with friends and neighbours.
A Loving Space
Open Garage provides a loving space for garden swaps. A place where your abundant produce will be enjoyed amongst new friends, or taken to be enjoyed at home.
Open Garage has been inspired by many little things
Its driving force has been to create a warm space for the community and friends to come together, our shared produce table is just another great way to bring people together.
A thoughtful act
Its always so heart warming to see people bringing a cake, or a savoury slice to the table for others to enjoy on Open Garage day.
A plate of sausage rolls or a basket of scones freshly out of the oven, shows that someone, a complete stranger even, cares enough about reconnecting the community and extending bonds of friendships because they have set their time aside to make, bake or create the thoughtful act that is shared on the day.
The same being said when we see jars of jam or chutney, produce from the garden beautifully wrapped in twine and labelled placed lovingly on our swap table.
It’s a clear sign that our communities want to know each other again.
Thats what we hope to achieve. To inspire others to follow in the Open Garage spirit.
